HIFU + SDM in one handset — BTF's home device for lifting, firming and brightening

BTF markets the Ultrasonic Duo as "the only at-home device" that combines two ultrasound technologies — High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) and Super-dense Droplet Micro-ultrasound (SDM) — in a single handset, calling it "clinic-grade" care with "professional results" at home. These are the manufacturer's own claims about its market position and are not independently verified by Teranova.

HIFU runs at 7 MHz and targets two depths: 3.0mm (dermis) and 4.5mm, which BTF calls the SMAS layer — "the same facial support layer treated in surgical facelifts," per the company. This is a comparison BTF draws about its own technology, not a claim that the device produces surgical-facelift results.

SDM runs across three frequencies (3, 10 and 16 MHz) and, per BTF, spreads ultrasound energy over a wider area of the dermis than HIFU alone, using "the same protocol used in high-end aesthetic clinics." The device combines both technologies into three usage modes: a 10-minute Multi mode (default), an 8-minute Moisture mode (3 MHz only) and a 9-minute Elastic mode (10 MHz only).

BTF's own marketing describes the routine as "10 minutes a day, 10 years younger" and promotes "unlimited shots" with no cartridge to replace. Teranova publishes the shots claim with an exact qualifier, because BTF's own technical specification is more precise than its marketing copy: the side button ships pre-set to 1,000 shots on first use, then switches to unlimited output permanently after that first use. Read "unlimited shots" with that first-use detail in mind.

A built-in gyroscope auto-pauses the device after 3 seconds without movement and shuts it off after 2 minutes, per BTF's specification — a safety feature against accidental over-treatment.

BTF cites a human application test run by the Korea Institute of Dermatological Sciences (KIDS), 19 June – 10 July 2025, on 21 women aged 37–67, using SDM Multi mode for 10 minutes plus HIFU at 4.5mm for 1,000 shots. Per that study, participants showed a 31.13% improvement in skin elasticity and a 37.18% improvement in skin radiance, both measured immediately after a single use. BTF's own footnote applies: "individual results may vary based on skin type and condition; results are specific to study participants." This is a small, single-institution study reporting an immediate post-use effect, not a sustained-use or independently replicated result, and Teranova has not independently verified it.

BTF states the device is "validated by domestic and international specialists, including the Australian Medical Advisory Board" and references "a patent relating to pain reduction in HIFU operation." BTF has not provided the names of any board members, a supporting report, or a patent number, country or filing date for either claim — Teranova publishes them exactly as BTF states them, with no independent confirmation.

Per BTF (3 September 2026), a trial order is available from 10 units and the minimum order is 30 units; the export price varies with order quantity and is not published here. BTF states it currently has no exclusive distribution agreements in place, so no territory is closed to a new partner.
